BACS Training - Course Culture
Participation
We try to make it very clear to all our customers that all courses are assessed on the participation of each student, we highlight this on each course prior to commencement, we are unable to assess the level of learning and understanding if students choose not to participate.
Our culture is to make courses as proactive as possible this means that myself and other BACS tutors actively encourage scenario work, role play, formal exercises and discussion.
We will use real and created situations to assess understanding and allow students to demonstrate and express their perception of what is appropriate and what is not.
We make great efforts to ensure that all students enjoy their time on our courses as we see this a contributing to the learning process.
However we feel it is important to express that where we can not assess learning on a number of levels we may choose to defer the student for further work to be undertaken, this links strongly into our culture of improving the way care staff care and their knowledge of the responsibilities encompassed in the duty of care and as a requirement of local and National legislation.
Style
Tutors a BACS concentrate on our rule of six & recall and recognition, these are the corner stones of the style of tutoring that we commit to, we work on 6 learning outcomes for every course delivered, these outcomes are constantly checked throughout any session and form the beginning and end of every session.
Our aim is that students are able to recall what they have leaned in any session without prompting, this is achieved through delivery, questionnaire, quality assurance, feedback and observation. Each student will be given quality handouts for each course and will be actively encouraged to refer to their notes on a monthly basis.
Commitment
Our commitment to the student is that if we feel they have not met the learning outcomes for any course then they are given dates for further work free of charge, any student who does not demonstrate understanding in the workplace can attend a repeat course free of charge any time over the next six month period.
