1 Day Physical Intervention Update

INTRODUCTION:

Recognition of the need for last resort intervention and the therapeutic approach to resolving conflict underpins the complex course, each candidate will be clear on safe handling and appropriate technique for safe guarding those they care for.

This 1 Day Physical Intervention Upate Training Course is intended for candidates who have previously completed a 3 Day Physical Intervention course.

COURSE OUTLINE:

1 Day Physical Intervention Update

Course outline:

  • Recognizing Agitation and the causes
  • Awareness of contributing factors to the escalation of agitation
  • Techniques for appropriate effective de-escalation of agitation and aggression
  • Non-threatening Non-judgmental approaches to conflict
  • Safe breakaway and disengagement
  • Functional competencies. C & R
  • One & two person approaches
  • Risk assessment and safe approaches
  • Group work/stopping fighting
  • Legislation & reasonable force
  • Poor technique and areas to be avoided
  • Recognizing signs and responses to positional asphyxia
  • Risk Factors and other Physical Intervention

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

Appropriate clothing/footwear must be worn for practical sessions (see below)

  • full covered flat shoe
  • Clothing should be easy to move about in

Anyone who attends and is not wearing suitable Footwear and clothing will not be allowed to participate in the training session

All students must provide their own writing material and paper

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF BOOKING:

We aim to provide a flexible approach to training for our customers, please read our booking terms & conditions detailed below.

  • Students that fail to attend a course will be invoiced at the full course rate
  • Cancellations giving 7 days notice from date of training, no charge
  • Cancellations giving less than 7 days notice, full course fees charged
  • Cancellations on the day or none attendance on the day a re-booking fee of £25 charged
  • Discounts are only applicable if invoice is paid in full within 30 days of invoicing
  • Students arriving 30 mins after course commencement will be classed as a non attendance and re-booking fee will apply
  • Invoices paid within 30 days
