Basic First Aid (Appointed Person)

INTRODUCTION:

This Basic First Aid (Appointed Person) is an essential course for all care workers, admin and senior staff, who may have to respond to an emergency in the workplace Basic First Aid will give the knowledge and skills required to deal with the situation effectively.

An excellent practical and theoretical Basic First Aid (Appointed Person) training course.

COURSE OUTLINE:

Basic First Aid (Appointed Person) Training

  • Aims and responsibilities of appointed first aid staff
  • First Aid kits and appropriate use
  • Managing burns
  • Bleeding - causes, control measures and risk limitation
  • Shock signs, symptoms and treatment
  • CPR Demonstration and practice D.R.H.A.B.C.
  • Fractures, slings and risk limitation
  • Choking - responding effectively and practical demonstration
  • Head injuries, cerebral compression
  • Seizures, types and signs of seizures and stroke
  • Casualty management and dealing with unconsciousness, recovery position
  • Diabetes

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

Appropriate clothing/footwear must be worn for practical sessions (see below)

  • full covered flat shoe
  • Clothing should be easy to move about in

Anyone who attends and is not wearing suitable Footwear and clothing will not be allowed to participate in the training session

All students must provide their own writing material and paper

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF BOOKING:

We aim to provide a flexible approach to training for our customers, please read our booking terms & conditions detailed below.

  • Students that fail to attend a course will be invoiced at the full course rate
  • Cancellations giving 7 days notice from date of training, no charge
  • Cancellations giving less than 7 days notice, full course fees charged
  • Cancellations on the day or none attendance on the day a re-booking fee of £25 charged
  • Discounts are only applicable if invoice is paid in full within 30 days of invoicing
  • Students arriving 30 mins after course commencement will be classed as a non attendance and re-booking fee will apply
  • Invoices paid within 30 days
