Bereavement and Loss

INTRODUCTION:

This Bereavement & Loss Training course is a development course for all care workers, understanding and effectively responding to the needs of a dying person is a key skill and managing and coping with loss will be difficult for many staff. The rewards from attending this course will be more prepared staff working in a more sensitive and supportive way. This can only lead to a better quality of care for the dying person, and their loved ones.

This is an excellent theoretical and scenario based Bereavement & Loss training course.

Bereavement & Loss Training course

  • The stages of dying
  • Where does loss begin and dealing with change
  • Cultural awareness and non-judgmental approaches
  • The pathway to a good death
  • Duty of care
  • Managing the environment/support and external resources
  • Family and visitors/coping with loss
  • Recording and responding to questions
  • Attitudes and behaviour in care settings
  • Respect, privacy and dignity throughout the stages of death

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

Appropriate clothing/footwear must be worn for practical sessions (see below)

  • full covered flat shoe
  • Clothing should be easy to move about in

Anyone who attends and is not wearing suitable Footwear and clothing will not be allowed to participate in the training session

All students must provide their own writing material and paper

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF BOOKING:

We aim to provide a flexible approach to training for our customers, please read our booking terms & conditions detailed below.

  • Students that fail to attend a course will be invoiced at the full course rate
  • Cancellations giving 7 days notice from date of training, no charge
  • Cancellations giving less than 7 days notice, full course fees charged
  • Cancellations on the day or none attendance on the day a re-booking fee of £25 charged
  • Discounts are only applicable if invoice is paid in full within 30 days of invoicing
  • Students arriving 30 mins after course commencement will be classed as a non attendance and re-booking fee will apply
  • Invoices paid within 30 days
