Medication Awareness

INTRODUCTION:

This course is level 1 of the three levels required and meets the requirement set by Skills for Care, and aims to meet local authority expectations.This training course meets all the requirements and also those of local Social Services. Each candidate is required to achieve this level of training as a mandatory requirement. 

An excellent theoretical student centred workshop-training course.

  • Administering & Supporting (the difference)
  • Three levels of medication training
  • Common side effects to medication
  • Safe disposal of medication & infection controls
  • The legislation and guidelines on administration
  • Risk limitation and accountability
  • Recording and reporting
  • Methods of administering and applying medication
  • Common medications in use
  • Common problems and safeguarding others
  • Local policies

COURSE REQUIREMENTS:

Appropriate clothing/footwear must be worn for practical sessions (see below)

  • full covered flat shoe
  • Clothing should be easy to move about in

Anyone who attends and is not wearing suitable Footwear and clothing will not be allowed to participate in the training session

All students must provide their own writing material and paper

TERMS & CONDITIONS OF BOOKING:

We aim to provide a flexible approach to training for our customers, please read our booking terms & conditions detailed below.

  • Students that fail to attend a course will be invoiced at the full course rate
  • Cancellations giving 7 days notice from date of training, no charge
  • Cancellations giving less than 7 days notice, full course fees charged
  • Cancellations on the day or none attendance on the day a re-booking fee of £25 charged
  • Discounts are only applicable if invoice is paid in full within 30 days of invoicing
  • Students arriving 30 mins after course commencement will be classed as a non attendance and re-booking fee will apply
  • Invoices paid within 30 days
